Dental medicine is developing rapidly, which is why ECRIDENT was established. We are a private initiative that combines clinical practice, research, and education with the aim of pushing the boundaries of patient care and scientific knowledge.

Preclinical research and laboratories

ECRIDENT has its own laboratories and a soft and hard tissue bank. This allows us to conduct cutting-edge preclinical research and testing of new methods and materials in collaboration with academia and industry.

Education and conferences

The Centre includes a training centre for 20–30 participants.
ECRIDENT also serves as a venue for practical workshops, educational courses, and professional conferences.

Rat and mouse models, male/female, pure compounds or complex mixtures/extracts,
the breeding certificate for the animals is 67149/2018-MZE-17214,
safety assessment after drug candidate/natural product treatment, in line with OECD standards,
external inspection (photo documentation) and autopsy,
collection of organs (gingival tissue, all including the brain) and body fluids (blood, urine),
hematology, red blood count, white blood count,
basic blood and urine biochemistry (substrates, enzymes, ions, lipids), urinalysis, accreditation according to EN ISO 15189: 2013,
oxidative stress parameters, genotoxicity and hepatotoxicity in vivo,
histology of organs, basic examination, special examination (staining, e.g. for collagen),
immunohistochemistry of selected (target) proteins,
continual monitoring of animals, including recording of weight (if necessary, recording of feed water and feed consumption),
continuous collection of urine/stool/small blood sample (up to 10 uL),
administration route (per os, per rectum, i.v., i.m., s.c., special probes),
Irwin test and functional observational battery,
implantation of tumors (via tumor cell lines),
small operations with survival of the animal,
pharmacokinetics, ADME, NOEL, metabolic studies by using already established LC-MS profiling based on GMP Certificate Ref. No.: sukls223661/2021,
complex behavioral and neurological in vivo testing.

Stability analyses, electrochemically (oxidation) and LC-MS (complex analyses of drug candidate degradation products), approval for handling of narcotic substances 652/20192/OIS-OPL (4/2019),
analyses of cannabinoid receptor interactions,
broad spectrum of in vitro cell models of epithelial, fibroblasts and gingival cells in general, macrophages, cancer cell lines, primary cell cultures of skin, hepatocytes and fibroblasts as well,
cytotoxicity testing by different approaches, accredited: EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 for direct contact testing, analyses of insoluble solid samples with surfaces, extracts and insoluble solid samples, soluble samples, soluble solid samples and liquid samples,
genotoxicity and hepatotoxicity testing in vitro,
Nrf2 and NF-kappaB pathway activation,
complex laboratory medicine equipment, i.e. analysis of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory markers,
markers of oxidative stress by LC-MS,
interaction with biomimetic membranes and biomembranes and components of final formulations.

Dental study design, study protocol, administration, study monitor and multidisciplinary team,
monocentric and multicentric studies, flexible pilot observations with 50-150 subjects,
GMP (sub-contract) facilities for the drug candidate or preparations clinical testing,
established teams of physicians working in stomatology, approvals from Ethical Committee (www.fnol.cz, www.nudz.cz and www.sukl.cz) available, could be up-dated each month,
placebo-control and double-blind approaches, randomization, CONSORT rules, ClinicalTrials.gov registration, under national or EMA regulators,
systematic reviews, complex literature search and meta-analysis, statistics of clinical data under control.
